FOOD SAFETY/MICROBIOLOGY

The 4800 sq ft Food Safety/Microbiology Expansion project at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus includes science laboratories and prep rooms for the College’s new Food Safety curriculum, which is only the second such program in the country. The expansion also required renovation to the existing building, joining the new prep rooms to existing labs and providing access to the new classrooms. Each lab will accommodate 24 people, giving hundreds of students the opportunity to take hands-on science courses. The additional prep areas more than quadruple the working and support spaces available to the department. The lab-classrooms opened to students for the spring 2013 semester.
